and thank you for supporting the gutter!

Hello to our Gutter patrons!

Thank you so much for supporting us! We hope we can continue to grow and provide more resources for our community, and it’s only possible with support from folks like you.

For now, we want to send you some comics-related news and resources!

For the Comics Creator

• Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) Exhibitor Applications are due October 20 – you can apply to table in-person or through their digital marketplace (which is a great option if you can’t make it to Canada; they take 20% what you make instead of charging a tabling fee)

• Cupcake Award applications are open until October 31 – The Chicago Alternative Comics Expo (CAKE) awards two new minicomics $400, a table at CAKE, and a mentor to guide the creation of the comic.

• Short Box Comics Fair applications are open until November 8 – For Short Box, you apply as a creator and then have full reign to make any kind of comic by the following August, to be debuted on their digital comics fair. There is a table fee but we’ve heard that comics artists have done really well at this fair.

Are there any other opportunities coming up you’d like to share with fellow creators?

For the Comics Reader

• Speaking of Short Box, the comics fair is currently live and there are some gorgeous looking comics on there and for decent prices too. You can shop the fair only during the month of October so check it out before it’s too late.

• If you’re in the area, here are some comics conventions coming up:

  • Philly Comics Expo – Philadelphia, PA – Oct 14

  • Short Run – Seattle, WA – Nov. 4

Leave a comment if there’s something else we should know about!

Thank YOU again for your support. We hope to send out these in-depth comics news and opportunities periodically to our supporters!
